In this episode we begin the New Testament overview by showing how the four Gospels reveal Jesus’ life, ministry, death, and resurrection as the fulfillment of God’s promises.
The episode summarizes Jesus’ identity as fully God and fully man, his proclamation of the kingdom of God through teaching and miracles, his compassion for the marginalized, and the meaning of his atoning death and victorious resurrection.
Finally, we explain how the Gospels fulfill the promises to Abraham and David and conclude with Jesus’ Great Commission to bring salvation to all nations.

In this episode of the Faith Chapel podcast, we finish the Old Testament overview by exploring the wisdom literature (Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, Job, Song of Songs) and the prophets. We discuss why studying Scripture matters, how the wisdom books teach the fear of the Lord and how to trust in God even in the hardest of situations. We then survey the prophets’ calls to repentance, warnings of judgment, and promises of restoration that point forward to the Messiah.
The episode shows how these books prepare us to see Jesus as the fulfillment of God’s promises and sets up the transition into the New Testament.

Today we are starting our fifth season in the podcast. We will be breaking the Bible into six sections and showing how these books point to the flow of the entire Bible. Join us in our discussion today as we tackle the foundational Pentateuch texts of Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy.
This episode explains why Scripture nourishes us (Psalm 1), traces creation and humanity made in God’s image, the fall and the promise of rescue, and God’s covenant with Abraham. We follow Joseph’s story into Egypt, the Exodus and Passover, the giving of the law at Sinai, and the purposes of sacrifice, holiness, justice, and sacred time.
Finally, we cover Israel’s wilderness wanderings, the delayed entry to the promised land, and Moses’ final charges in Deuteronomy, showing how the Pentateuch lays the theological and narrative foundation for the rest of the Bible.

In the final episode of the series, Pastor Jason examines how major behavioral shifts among first-century Jewish believers—abandoning dietary laws, the circumcision requirement, and the Saturday Sabbath—serve as historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus.
Using examples from Acts, Galatians, and the Jerusalem Council, along with commentary from scholars, the episode traces how these changes in long-held traditions are best explained by the disciples’ conviction that Jesus rose from the dead.
The episode concludes by arguing that the rapid spread and radical changes within the early church strengthen the historical case for the resurrection and invites listeners to weigh the evidence for themselves.

Episode 8 examines the historical evidence surrounding the deaths of early followers—especially James, Peter, and Paul—and argues that their willingness to suffer and die supports the claim that they truly believed Jesus rose from the dead.
The episode surveys biblical accounts (John, Acts, 2 Corinthians), early historical sources (Josephus, Clement of Rome), and modern scholars to show the dramatic change in the disciples from fear to fearless proclamation and martyrdom.

In this episode Jason explores how Saul of Tarsus (the Apostle Paul) and James, the brother of Jesus—both originally hostile to Jesus—experienced dramatic conversions after claiming encounters with the risen Christ. Drawing on Scripture (including 1 Corinthians 15), historical sources, and scholarly commentary, the episode argues that these radical changes provide strong circumstantial evidence supporting the resurrection. Jason reviews Paul’s violent persecution turned passionate apostleship, and James’s journey from skeptic within Jesus’ own family to leader of the Jerusalem church, concluding that their transformations point to encounters with the risen Jesus and strengthen the case for His resurrection.

In this episode of the Faith Chapel podcast, Pastor Jason examines the earliest known Christian creed recorded in 1 Corinthians 15, arguing it predates Paul's conversion and dates very close to Jesus’ death and resurrection. If this can be shown to be an early creed, it would dispute claims that the resurrection of Jesus was a later development in the history of the church. Jason explains why scholars consider the formulaic language, Aramaic traces, and eyewitness claims (including appearances to Peter, James, and more than 500 people) as strong historical evidence for the resurrection of Jesus.

Monday Dec 29, 2025

In today's episode Pastor Jason examines the historical evidence showing multiple sources—both biblical and extra‑biblical—that show the apostles claimed Jesus rose from the dead. We survey resurrection appearances in Luke, John, and Matthew and review second‑generation Christians (Clement of Rome and Polycarp) plus non‑Christian witnesses (Tacitus and Josephus).
